Embossing Technique Used in Card Making and Scrapbooking Craft

Embossing technique is widely used in card making and scrapbooking crafts. It is considered the most versatile technique which can make any creation out of the box. This technique helps in giving a raised as well as glittery effect on the craft. Craft makers mostly use embossing technique on wordings to get 3D effects and also on photographs to highlight them.

In this very unique technique a design is imprinted on the cards or scrapbooks with the help of inked rubber stamps. Before the ink dries up the embossing powder is sprinkled on the design. The excess powder is dusted away and then it is heated with a heat gun. Gradually the dust starts melting and gives a raised image. This method of getting a raised image is very easy and beginners can easily o it with proper guidance.

Today these Embossing Powders are available in wide variety of colors and textures.  However to get the unique effect in cards or scrapbooks few other tools are required without which embossing is not possible. Heat gun is one essential item, which can be found in all craft stores. One should get recommendations from experts while purchasing them to get the best gun. Stamps are known as the foundation of the design and mostly rubber stamps are used in embossing. The online craft stores sell these stamps in different designs and styles. Ink pad is another essential in the embossing technique. It is available in different colors, but mostly same colored pads as the embossing dusts are used by craft makers.

Embossing technique has gained today a lot of recognition among craft makers for offering a very unique look to the creation.
